How much does EV charger installation cost in Australia?
As a general market guide, a 7kW single-phase home install typically runs about $1,500–$3,000, and 22kW three-phase about $2,500–$4,500 — those are market ranges, not our quote. Your price depends on your switchboard and cable run; we quote it after a free assessment and check your grants first.
Can I get a government grant or rebate for a home EV charger?
It depends on your state and situation. NSW has no standing residential home-charger rebate right now, but businesses and fleets have real grants, and most homeowners pay nothing upfront using 0% interest finance. We check every federal and state program you qualify for — free — before you commit.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
Most home installs take around 2–3 hours and are done in a single visit, including safety testing and your Certificate of Compliance. If a switchboard upgrade is needed, we'll tell you before the day.
Do I need three-phase power for a home EV charger?
For most homes, no. Around 85% of Sydney homes are single-phase, where a 7kW charger refills a full day's driving overnight. Three-phase (22kW) only helps if your car supports it and you genuinely need the speed — we'll tell you honestly.
Do I need approval to install an EV charger in NSW?
A standard home charger on a single-phase supply usually just needs a licensed electrician and a Certificate of Compliance — no council approval. Larger loads or three-phase can need a simple notification to your network provider, and apartments need strata approval. We handle whichever applies.
